About the Role
Operates commercial laundry equipment to wash, dry, fold, and stack bulk laundry while ensuring proper machine settings and load capacities. Performs custodial duties, operates powered cleaning equipment, completes routine equipment maintenance, and maintains clean facilities. Follows established procedures under general supervision. Requires physical labor, including lifting over 50 lbs., and works in hot, humid, noisy environments with exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment hazards.
What You'll Do
- →DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Work is performed under general supervision and reviewed for compliance with instructions and standards of production and quality.
- →Supervisory assistance is readily available to provide information regarding problems that may arise during work.
- →MAJOR DUTIES: Operates commercial laundry machines to wash bulk laundry items.
- →Loads and unloads items into and out of washing machines and dryers.
- →Ensures proper sort, loading capacity, cleaning solvents and correct settings for operation of machinery.
- →Folds and stacks finished items.
- →Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways and other areas.
- →Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment.
- →Operated industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc.
- →Perform routine maintenance of equipment.
- →Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities.
- →Cleans and dusts assigned areas.
- →Empties trash.
- →Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt.
Requirements
- ✓High School graduate or equivalent.
- ✓All candidates (to include current employees) are required to include transcripts with their application package.
- ✓Failure to do so may result in an ineligible rating.
- ✓Only education from accredited and pre-accredited institutions will be accepted.
- ✓Foreign education must be evaluated for equivalency in the United States.
