You will serve as a FREIGHT RATE/ INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the LOGISTICS SUPPORT DIVISION of NMC CWD DET SEAL BEACH.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide logistics services and support to the Fleet and other customers by coordinating with Commander, Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT), Commander Naval Southwest Region, and other customers.
- →You will secure all transportations on and off base, generating all required documentation.
- →You will receive, review and monitor incoming requisitions.
- →You will determine most efficient and economical rates and routes for the movement of freight.
- →You will review magazine utilization to determine storage for upcoming materials.
- →You will be responsible for preparation of government bills of lading (GBLs), shipping documents, and various transportation documents.
- →You will prepare and sign certification for shipments of explosives and hazardous material.
- →You will be responsible for planning shipments segregated according to destination, required delivery date, and compatibility restrictions.
- →You will monitor and execute station detention charges, maintain logs of trucks arrival and departure, and assign delivery appointment dates for commercial carriers.
- →You will perform technical review of freight charges the automated system.
