About the Role

This position serves as a Property Manager in the Material Management Division of Supply Chain Management in the VA Health Care System responsible for the inventory and lifecycle management of all non-expendable (NX) equipment in the assigned area(s).

What You'll Do

  • NOTE: This position involves a multi-grade career ladder.
  • The major duties listed above represent the full performance level of GS-9.
  • At the GS-07 grade level, you will perform assignments of a more limited scope and with less independence.
  • You will progressively acquire the background necessary to perform at the full performance level of GS-9.
  • Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
  • Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm Telework: Ad hoc Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

  • Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Involves a mix of working in an office environment to working in a warehouse to assist in processing new equipment receipts and entering into the EIL.
  • A great amount of time walking and climbing stairs is required to conduct on-site inventories of EIL equipment.
  • Lifting of up to 40 pounds is required when receiving new equipment at the facility and preparing for the sale of excess property.
  • Work conditions are often indoors, but could occasionally be dirty, hot, humid or unusually cold when involved in property inventories, disposal of equipment, transferring of equipment between serviced locations and recycling centers.
  • Work is performed generally in an office setting with access to a personal computer and computerized and manual equipment records.
