What You'll Do
- →As an International Economist (Pathways Recent Graduates), you will perform the following duties: Use computer applications to provide economic research and maintain databases for econometric models.
- →Collaborate with senior economists to prepare preliminary interpretive reports and communicate research findings, analyses, and project information.
- →Locate and collect relevant data to analyze a specified problem and update databases for econometric models using tables and charts to illustrate analyses.
- →Coordinate the detailed study planning; collection and compilation of data from primary or secondary sources.
- →This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other International Economist (Pathways Recent Graduates) GS-0110-9 full performance level, GS,13, positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must have completed, within the previous two-years, a qualifying associate's, bachelor's, master's, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.
- ✓Exceptions are made for veterans, as defined in 5 USC 2108 , who, due to military service obligations, were precluded from applying to the Recent Graduate Program during the two-year eligibility period described above.
- ✓Veterans have a full two-year period of eligibility upon their release or discharge from active duty.
- ✓The eligibility period shall not extend beyond six years from the date of academic completion.
- ✓This position is being recruited with an opportunity for non-competitive conversion eligibility to a permanent OR term position upon completion of all Recent Graduate program requirements.
- ✓Conversion is not mandatory nor guaranteed (see Other Information).
- ✓You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this position.
- ✓This position requires a Secret-Level Security Clearance.
- ✓You must be able to obtain and maintain the required clearance.
- ✓You must successfully pass a background investigation.
- ✓This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use of possession of drugs.
- ✓A trial period may be required.
- ✓Selective Service: Males born after 12/31/59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (see https://www.sss.gov/).
