This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This is a Supervisory Interdisciplinary position with the USACE Little Rock District, Operations Division located in Piedmont, MO. Can be filled at the GS-11 or the full performance GS-12.This vacancy can be filled in any of the following occupations: 0401 0460 0486 0808 0801 0810 0830 or 0850.
What You'll Do
- →Responsible for the development and implementation of a variety of complex and sometimes controversial natural resource management and protect programs that include fish and wildlife management, soil conservation, fire protection and flood control.
- →Review requests for leases, licenses, out grants and special use permits based on the current usage, trends, demographics and needs of the project in consideration of all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and project plans.
- →Coordinates and manages the operation and management of recreation facilities, including campground, picnic areas, boat launching ramps, marinas, historical sites, overlooks, and visitor/information center(s).
- →Develops year-round interpretive programs for visitors to the lake and coordinates with District.
- →Supervises all aspects of the work of the organization.
- →Responsible for full-time, seasonal and temporary personnel engaged in the management , operation, and maintenance of lands and water.
- →Works with the Operations Project Manager in all aspects of the organization's mission, regulations, policies, report and requests from supervisors and other District elements involved in the organization's mission.
Requirements
- ✓SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE CONTINUED: GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service performing the following duties: 1) evaluating recreation trends to analyze public needs, demands, and resource capabilities and 2) using operations and maintenance plans to reduce and manage flood risk efforts.
- ✓OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: [insert applicable field(s) of study].
- ✓OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
- ✓To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.
- ✓Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
