You will serve as an Interdisciplinary Engineer/Scientist in the Avionics Engineering Department, Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare Battlespace Division of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will lead the development and demonstration of advanced Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) system concepts.
- →You will lead and coordinate complex experimentation exercises in various global locations to demonstrate advanced system concepts and assess performance in diverse ocean environments.
- →You will provide authoritative technical direction and oversight for advanced development programs.
- →You will provide technical direction and oversight to government engineers, contractor personnel, and academic subject matter experts involved in the development of advanced ASW systems.
- →You will be directly responsible for the generation of technical inputs and the development of comprehensive proposals to secure and sustain funding for advanced technology development programs.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: FOR THE 0850/0854/0855 JOB SERIES: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓FOR THE 1310 JOB SERIES: A.
- ✓Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.
- ✓Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- ✓In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.
- ✓FOR THE 1550 JOB SERIES: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- ✓At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
- ✓All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
