About the Role

This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated August 12,2024. This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

What You'll Do

  • S. and allied facilities from the effects of conventional, non-conventional, special, and nuclear weapons.
  • The incumbent is responsible for enforcement of all technical and administrative provisions of assigned construction contracts.
  • The incumbent is further required to apply sound engineering principles and judgement throughout the performance of their duties.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of test master plans, test plans, and test operation plans that support of Test Article construction projects at Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB), White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), and other test sites in which DTRA is supporting.
  • Visit construction sites to monitor progress and solicit input from the Quality Assurance (QA) representative, review Contractor Quality Control reports and attend Quality Control (QC) meetings, by exception.
  • Take necessary action (including possibly recommending dismissal of QC Manager and/or other QC staff) to assure contractor's quality control program is provided in accordance with the contract requirements and that the three phases of quality control are being utilized.
  • Based on technical knowledge and coordination with the PM, testing team, designer and contractor, coordinating and suggesting technical solutions to unforeseen problems during construction.
  • Represents the RD-TST as the technical representative in matters involving contract modifications and claims.

  • If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
