You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM MANAGER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPT. of NAS KEY WEST.
What You'll Do
- →You will be thoroughly familiar with key environmental laws and regulations, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Clean Water Act, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
- →You will implement environmental and public health readiness exercises.
- →You will develop and implement tabletop exercises, functional exercises, and/or Field Training Exercises in accordance with regulatory requirements and policies to ensure compliance with obligations at Naval facilities.
- →You will conduct formal and informal training for personnel at the installation concerned with compliance with environmental regulations.
- →You will provide necessary coordination and review of environmental compliance projects to ensure that they're funded, designed, and constructed in a timely manner.
- →You will serve as the installation's representative on partnering teams, boards and at conferences on matters related to the environment in general and assigned environmental programs.
- →You will serve as a technical expert on environmental compliance regulations/permits.
- →You will serve as a Deputy On-Scene Coordinator (OSC) for real-world and notional oil discharges and hazardous substance releases within the Navy Region Southeast Area of Responsibility (AOR).
Requirements
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering.
- ✓The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: (I) Professional registration or licensure: Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- ✓OR Have a combination of education and experience with education equivalent to one of the majors shown above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
