You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER/SCIENTIST in the PRECISION TARGETING AND FIRES OFFICE of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. This Announcement Considers the Following Disciplines: GENERAL ENGINEER (0801) PHYSICIST (1310) OPERATIONS RESEARCH ANALYST (1515) MATHEMATICIAN (1520) COMPUTER SCIENTIST (1550)
What You'll Do
- →You will provide technical leadership for the integration of multiple independent yet interdependent systems into a cohesive and mission-capable System of Systems (SoS) for warfighter solutions.
- →You will ensure the seamless integration of independent systems from multiple vendors and organizations.
- →You will define, manage, and enforce interface control documents (ICDs), APIs, data standards, and communication protocols.
- →You will lead the resolution of cross-system technical conflicts and integration challenges.
- →You will oversee the entire System of Systems engineering lifecycle, from concept and design to deployment, sustainment, and modernization.
- →You will guarantee compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and safety/security protocols.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: 0801 Series: Degree: Engineering.
- ✓The total course work in either A or B above must have included differential and integral calculus and, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite. 1550 Series: Bachelor's degree in computer science OR Bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
- ✓At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
- ✓All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
- ✓Evaluation of Education: Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science.
- ✓Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable.
- ✓Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
