About the Role
The inpatient Medicine Nurse functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
What You'll Do
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →The Inpatient Medicine Nurse Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a registered professional nurse responsible for the assessment, planning, provision and evaluation of nursing services in specified client area(s).
- →The ANM serves as an assistant with line authority to the Nurse Manager (NM) in providing leadership and direction to nursing staff.
- →The ANM is also responsible for directing and organizing the unit specific orientation, training and development of staff and for directing, supervising, and evaluating their performance.
- →The ANM interprets the philosophy and goals of Nursing Service to others in the work setting; functions within established guidelines and demonstrates the ability to work effectively and develop therapeutic relationships with clients, their caregivers and other professional and supportive personnel who provide client care.
- →Work Schedule: Mon to Fri Day Shift.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
