Please see "Conditions of Employment" section below for further details. About the Position: Watervliet Arsenal is an Army owned and operated manufacturing center in New York. It is the oldest continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.
What You'll Do
- →Reviews various types of authorizing documents, project orders, purchase requests and contractual documents which originate within the installation, from other arsenals, commodity commands, private industry and other government agencies.
- →Determines quantity and type of item required, delivery date, inspection criteria, packaging and preservation requirements, specifications, funding authority, etc.
- →Assures completeness of the engineering package used in the processing of requests for quotations or establishment of a firm requirement or order for manufacture or purchase of assigned items, and compiles cost of delivery proposals.
- →Collects information from various Arsenal segments to derive figures for estimating the cost of maintaining weapons systems and purchasing replacement parts.
- →Requests information which is missing and where it is found to be non-existent obtains criteria under which the items will be manufactured for customer approval.
- →Prepares staff support package on requirements necessitating a Make or Buy Decision.
