About the Position: This position is located at Barquist Army Health Clinic on Fort Detrick, Frederick, MD. This position provides industrial hygiene services to Barquist Army Health Clinic ensure high-quality patient care and facility operations. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Perform industrial hygiene surveys and assessments and document data in the Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System.
- →Assess the nature and magnitude of hazardous exposures, determine the effectiveness of existing control measures and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
- →Prepare standard operating procedures, guidance documents, training materials and program templates to facilitate the industrial hygiene mission.
- →Conduct comprehensive and special surveys to identify and evaluate potential chemical, biological, physical and ergonomic health hazards and recommend corrective measures.
- →Assess the need for samples and develop sampling and develop monitoring plans utilizing proper sampling techniques or procedures to determine nature and severity of hazards present.
- →Review the work of Industrial Hygiene Technicians.
- →Provide technical expertise and guidance to installation and organizational safety, occupational health and leadership on workplace health issues and concerns.
- →Coordinate with occupational health providers to ensure appropriate medical surveillance is afforded to employees
