About the Position: This position is located with Evans Army Community Hospital, with the Directorate of Clinical Support, Department of Preventive Medicine Occupational Health in Tooele Utah. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a technical supervisor and coordinator for local-level industrial hygiene services, leading and scheduling sampling surveys for a team of junior Industrial Hygienists and Technicians.
- →Plans and administers comprehensive industrial hygiene sampling for a complex, multi-mission installation, including military activities engaged in highly complex industrial processes.
- →Develops advanced sampling strategies, techniques, and methods for evaluating indoor air quality, toxicological data, biological agents (fungi), and physical hazards (ionizing and non-ionizing radiation).
- →Conduct quantitative and qualitative surveys of working conditions to determine the nature and magnitude of hazardous exposures and evaluate the effectiveness of existing control measures (e.g., chemical hoods, local exhaust ventilation, and PPE).
- →Evaluate proposed new work processes and materials, particularly in novel or experimental operations, to assure incorporation of adequate measures for the prevention of occupational disease hazards.
- →Investigate complex health problems among workers (e.g., loss of hearing acuity, chemical dermatitis) and evaluate confined space entries for atmospheric hazards to develop safe entry procedures.
- →Formulate directives, SOPs, laboratory orders, and information bulletins related to the occupational health program.
