About the Role
This unit is responsible for providing oversight and technical consultation on all environmental, health, safety and security issues with the goal of providing and ensuring a safe and healthful environment for employees.
What You'll Do
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Assists with the management of hazardous waste, universal waste, and used oil at the NCAH.
- →Manages the Respiratory Protection Program to include training, fit testing and selection of the proper type of respirator for the operation or hazard.
- →Review contract, scope of work documents and construction plans for new construction and/or renovation to identify occupational or environmental hazards and insure specifications comply with local, USDA, and Federal health and safety requirements.
- →Independently plans, maintains, and conducts training related to the Industrial Hygiene Program.
- →Provides instructions, training, and advice to NCAH employees concerning industrial health hazards and possible approaches to their control.
- →Maintains accessibility to chemical Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs) to ensure personnel that are potentially exposed to a chemical have ready access.
- →Determines methods, procedures and measuring devices for use in evaluating the extent to which hazards are present and the effectiveness of control procedures.
