This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range & Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic (WG-10) maintaining, repairing, and installing complex plant machinery, real property, and utility systems, while performing specialized part fabrication and rigging duties.
What You'll Do
- →Installs, overhauls, maintains, and adjusts the wide variety of machinery, equipment, and mechanical systems.
- →Maintains existing equipment, modifies equipment as necessary, and installs new equipment.
- →Installs and repairs foundations for machinery, using impact drills and building materials such as wood, cement, and steel.
- →In installing new machines or equipment, works from blue prints or other floor plans and must locate new machinery by marking location on floor.
- →May perform other incidental work operations such as checking and replacing electrical wiring and connections, and welding.
- →Selects and installs weight handling gear such as cables, ropes, slings and chains used to lift, move and position a variety of large and heavy equipment and machinery.
- →Must complete the required Asbestos Abatement Supervisor Licensure Certification within 6 months of being appointed into the position and attend annual refresher training.
