As a Human Resources Specialist, you will serve as a technical expert in processing personnel actions and record keeping principles, as well as provide advisory services to employees, supervisors, and senior management officials.
What You'll Do
- →The responsibilities described are for the full performance level.
- →At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
- →Serve as a primary point-of-contact for employee pay and personnel record matters and provides technical advice and recommendations to managers and employees on complex and routine pay and personnel processing matters.
- →Use technical expertise and analytical techniques to research and examine documentation, verify relevant facts, ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and applicable guidance, and reconcile discrepancies.
- →Monitor the day-to-day operations of team requirements as they pertain to the processing of personnel actions and employee specific pay and personnel account data to ensure timeliness and accuracy of actions.
- →Train or arrange for training of team members in methods and technical requirements necessary to accomplish tasks.
- →Monitor and report on status and progress of work, review completed work for accuracy, and ensure it aligns with supervisor's instructions on work priorities, methods, deadlines, and quality.
- →Manage and update agency employees’ electronic official personnel folders (eOPF), consult on processing, provide documents for investigations, and advise managers and staff on eOPF requirements for pay and personnel records.
