Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Human Resources Management, Labor and Employee Relations Division, location negotiable after selection to any CBP office. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
What You'll Do
- →Joining Customs & Border Protection (CBP) will allow you to utilize your expertise serving as a senior consultant and advisor on employee relations matters, requiring mastery of advanced human resources principles, concepts, and practices.
- →This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
- →Typical duties include: Managing the intake of disciplinary cases, reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy, and assigning cases to reviewers.
- →Maintaining a detailed tracking system, preparing reports for management, and recommending process improvements to optimize workflow and case management.
- →Serving as a senior consultant to management and supervisors on complex employee relations issues, interpreting and applying laws and policies, reviewing investigations, and recommending disciplinary actions.
- →Developing and delivering training programs and leading cross-functional teams to address systemic employee relations challenges.
- →Conducting thorough reviews of HR policies and procedures to identify inconsistencies or gaps, developing recommendations for modifications, drafting new policy language, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and ensuring effective communication and implementation of policy changes throughout the agency.

Requirements
