This vacancy is for a GS-0201-13, HR Specialist (Classification) located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, HUMAN RESOURCES SERVICE CENTER WEST in Glen Burnie, MD.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a HR Specialist (Classification) and be responsible for position evaluation to determine appropriate pay system, occupational series, title, and grade of positions, and advising on position management and organization design.
- →Additionally, serves as a classification consultant by providing expert advice to other specialty areas associated with Human Resource Operations.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Classify positions by reviewing duties and responsibilities to determine the appropriate title, series, and grade level.
- →Provide position management advice to managers and supervisors to improve organizational structure, workload distribution, and workforce utilization.
- →Conduct classification reviews and studies to ensure positions are properly classified and comply with federal regulations and policies.
- →Advise employees and management on classification standards, appeal procedures, and the impact of organizational or position changes.
- →Prepare and present reports, recommendations, and briefings to support classification decisions and organizational planning efforts.
- →Provide technical guidance and training to HR staff on classification principles, position management, and organizational design practices.
