About the Role
Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
What You'll Do
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
- →The Hemodialysis Nurse Manager has the 24/7 coverage responsibility for the operational demands of the unit.
- →The Hemodialysis Nurse Manager (NM) is a registered professional nurse responsible for assessment, planning, provision, and evaluation of nursing services in a hemodialysis unit.
- →The NM is also responsible for directing and organizing specific specialty orientation, training and development of staff and for directing, supervising, and evaluating their performance.
- →The Nurse Manager functions as role model, educator, practitioner, and manager and provides leadership to an interdisciplinary team.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
