You will serve as a HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the CRANE MAINTENANCE DIVISION, LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will disassemble, repair, and assemble machinery and equipment components such as hoist, travel, swing, and boom assemblies.
- →You will remove, install, and align travel, hoist, brake, and drive motors; gasoline and diesel engines.
- →You will fabricate eight-inch piping to exhaust systems.
- →You will perform machining operations associated with repairs such as reboring, cylinders, bearings, bushings, turning or grinding shafts, pistons, brake drums, wheels, and manufacture of replacement parts.
