This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: As a Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of various types of cranes, trucks, gas-and diesel-powered tractors, draglines, compressors, and marine engines.
What You'll Do
- →Accomplish all repairs that can be made in the field and providing direction to equipment operators or others acting as helpers.
- →Regularly, repair and modify the most complex vehicles and equipment, involving many complicated and varied systems.
- →Use a variety of electronic test equipment to trouble shoot special problems.
- →Perform mechanical maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a variety of launches and towboats.
- →Operate a diesel tandem tractor with 13-speed transmission and various trailers in the absence of the primary operator.
- →Performs repair of gasoline and diesel equipment in the field.
