THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Logistics Readiness Squadron, East Granby, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel, assigned to the 103d LRS of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members, assigned to the 103d LRS of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
What You'll Do
- →NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED.
- →This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.
- →The major duties include, but are not limited to: Repairs, adjust, overhauls, performs major repairs, and maintenance on military and commercial designed heavy mobile equipment and special purpose vehicles.
- →Performs body repair and corrosion control, refinishes and repaints surfaces as required.
- →Prepares, maintains and submits applicable maintenance work orders for man-hour and data collection accounting, to include completing forms to reflect work performed or delayed and parts and maintenance required.
- →Participates as OJT Instructor in the vehicle maintenance area.
- →Assists in conducting the local occupational safety and health training program, to include compliance with directives and procedures for proper disposal of hazardous waste products within the functional area.
- →WORKING CONDITIONS: Mechanics at this level work both inside and outside.
- →When working inside, they are frequently exposed to drafts, changing temperatures, and noise which are difficult to talk above.
- →When working outside, they may be required to work in bad weather.
- →Workers are often exposed to irritations and discomfort from dust, grease, heat, and fumes.
- →Workers are subject to cuts, burns, chemical irritations, bruises, electrical shock, and injuries for fall from falls while repairing, positioning, and moving equipment.
- →Follows prescribed safety practices.
- →Some safety equipment and clothing may need to be worn for long periods of time.

- ✓No substitution of education for specialized experience.
