What You'll Do
- →As a Health Technician (Paramedic), you perform a wide range of emergency medical services (EMS) to include: Provide patient care according to local EMS protocols and prepare accurate written documentation of all EMS incidents.
- →Operate ambulances and other emergency vehicles in a safe and skilled manner.
- →Maintain EMS and rescue equipment in a response-ready state and regularly perform related work projects as assigned during daily shift.
- →Perform patient care in a variety of rugged environments involving lifting, moving and carrying for extended periods with exposure to extremes in temperature and uneven terrain.
- →Perform search and rescue operations in remote and technical environments, often carrying heavy loads for long distances.
- →May perform as a member of a team aboard helicopters during medical evacuations and rescue operations.
- →Work safely and effectively, utilizing PPE (personal protective equipment) and proper work practices, while performing in hazardous work environments including motor vehicle accidents, structural fires, HAZMAT, plane crashes and mass-casualty incidents.
- →Perform tasks as assigned under incident command system (ICS) and interact routinely with outside agency emergency personnel.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement.
- ✓Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓Occupancy of government quarters may be required.
- ✓Government housing may be available but is not guaranteed.
- ✓Use find a park to contact specific parks for more information on government housing.
- ✓You may be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work.
- ✓You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- ✓You will also submit a photocopy of their valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
- ✓Lastly, selectee may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by selectee.
