About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital, Directorate of Surgery Orthopedic Service at Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
What You'll Do
- →Apply the full range of casts in routine (arm, hip, leg, shoulder and body cast) procedures.
- →Assist in the application of specialized weight bearing casts for the treatment of femoral shaft fractures.
- →Apply a variety of highly specialized casts and plaster casts.
- →Apply a variety of equipment such as Balkan Frames, Suspension Bucks Traction, Bryant Traction, Russell Traction, and various others designed to fit the specialized needs of the patients.
- →Sterilize treatment room using aseptic (sterile) standards.
- →Assisting surgeons during operating room procedures by holding or rotating affected extremity.
- →Assist surgeons with procedures including Steinman pins and Kirchner wires.
- →Instruct patients on surgical procedures and in the use/care of orthoses and prostheses.
- →Document instructions provided to patients.
