About the Position: Work is performed in an office environment within the Nutrition Services Department. The Patient Room Services section operates between the hours of 0500-1900 including weekends and holidays. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Receive and direct phone calls from patients, family members, staff, and dieticians.
- →Check electronic medical record for prescribed diet order and confirm it flows over to the nutrition system.
- →Maintain control of inpatient meal orders and room service menus.
- →Accept meal and nourishment orders from patients, nursing staff, and guests by phone and in person.
- →Educate patients on proper meal ordering procedures as well as dietary restrictions related to their prescribed diet order.
- →Track menu selections for designated nutrients to keep patients within limits established by prescribed diet orders.
