About the Role
The incumbent serves as a Health Systems Specialist - Health Professions Education (HPE) Specialist. This position supports the Designated Education Officer (DEO) and HPE management for establishing, maintaining, and evaluating the quality of HPE programs and the quality of care delivered by health professions trainees (HPTs) at the VA medical facility.
What You'll Do
- →The purpose of this position is to conduct and evaluate a wide range of program management and administrative duties to fulfill requirements related to VHA's academic mission and OAA's strategic plans.
- →Duties include, but may not be limited to the following: Manages the funding and budget operations for the education department, including monitoring expenditures, tracking allocations, and preparing financial reports to support program sustainability and growth in alignment with VA priorities.
- →Oversees contracts and program agreements supporting education department operations, ensuring documentation is accurate, current, and compliant with applicable VA and OAA polices and regulatory requirements.
- →Coordinates space management for the education department and HPTs, including the allocation, planning, and tracking of physical and virtual resources to support staff and HPT program needs.
- →Maintains timekeeping records for education department staff and HPTs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with VA human resources policies and OAA directives.
- →Supports new hire and HR functions for education department, including coordinating onboarding and offboarding processes, managing personnel actions, and serving as a liaison with HR to ensure timely and compliant processing.
- →Synthesizes and maintains data from diverse systems and sources to cross-check, validate, and present relevant information and reports in support of program oversight and decision making.
- →Provide complex coordination across clinical and administrative service lines at both facility and Veterans Services Integrated Network (VISN) levels.
