About the Role
This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). OJP provides federal leadership, funding, and other critical resources to directly support law enforcement, combat violent crime, protect American children, provide services to American crime victims, and address public safety challenges, including human trafficking and the opioid crisis.
What You'll Do
- →The duties and responsibilities for a GS- 1109-14 generally include, but are not limited to, the following: Plans and manages special projects for OJJDP or program issues with broad impact, such as those on an OJJDP or nationwide level that ultimately result in advances for the juvenile justice and child protection fields.
- →Serves as a subject matter expert in assigned programmatic areas within the juvenile justice field.
- →Supports management to develop, coordinate and implement strategic plans to include mission, goals, objectives and implementation strategies.
- →Plans, announces and coordinates pre-award processes for complex grants and/or agreements, such as developing solicitations for significant grants or programs that include forecasted changes in OJP long range program plans and strategies.
- →Serves as subject matter expert in juvenile justice systems, programs, and issues.
- →Provides training and technical assistance to grantees to ensure effective implementation and success of programming.
- →Serves a subject matter expert on matters related to the States' compliance with the core requirements of the JJDP Act.
- →Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of juvenile justice systems, programs and issues that have national impact.
- →Provides advice, guidance, training and technical assistance to ensure effective implementation of core requirements.
