About the Position: Serving as a working supervisor, exercising technical and administrative supervision over a group of section employees, performing work on USACE structures and plant equipment including: miter and sector gate locks, dam structures, sluice gate structures, flap gate structures, mooring pilings and docks, tow boats, crane barges,and diesel and gasoline operated mobile equipment.
What You'll Do
- →Conduct the full range of diagnostic maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts replacement, and/or major overhaul on all lock operating systems, machinery, structural components, and related equipment.
- →Determine extent of repairs and rebuilding required for lock operating systems, machinery, structural components and related equipment.
- →Establish deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedules.
- →Conduct on-the-job training for employees.
- →Explain work requirements, methods, and procedures to subordinates.
- →Coordinate work with other crews/supervisors that may be involved in the work site project.
- →Participate in planning current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, etc.
- →Develop performance standards for employees based on performance.
