About the Position: Serve as a working leader for section employees performing work on inland marine navigation structures, flood control structures, associated facilities, and other United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) structures or facilities. NOTE: At the time of hire, the Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid Class A Driver's License (CDL). NOTE: At the time of hire, the Incumbent must be 4G certified in welding.
What You'll Do
- →Performs the full range of diagnostic maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts replacement, and/or major overhaul on all lock, dam, and flood control operating systems, machinery, structural components, and related equipment.
- →Determine the extent of needed repairs and performing operational inspections.
- →Perform welder duties using electric acetylene and/or inert gas shielded welding processes.
- →Perform welder duties using electric acetylene and/or inert gas shielded welding processes.
- →Answer questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives.
- →Regularly operates a large mobile crane often in work area restricted in maneuverability.
- →Inspects, adjusts, lubricates, tests, installs, calibrates, and/or performs major and minor repairs to minimize costly delays to river traffic.
- →Installs, repairs and maintains piping system ranging from high pressure air or oil line systems to facility water systems.
