This position performs duties to install, repair, modify, evaluate, perform preventative maintenance and in-service on a wide variety of complex Medical center equipment and systems at the Bay Pines VAHC which include automated electronic and computer controlled industrial electrical distribution equipment and system, industrial electrical generation equipment and systems, industrial fire alarm and controls equipment, and various other equipment and systems.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Maintains and takes all calls on automated high and low voltage electrical switchgears: from 12,2470 volt to 120/208 volts.
- →Fault current up to 50,000 amps.
- →Maintains and takes all calls on the Simplex fire alarm system which is computer controlled, addressable system consisting of over 3200 devices through out the medical center.
- →Maintains and takes first call computer monitored and electronically controlled elevators, 26 on station, both hydraulic and traction technologies.
- →These units are both SCR and VFD Drive type elevators and require multi disciplinary knowledge to maintain.
- →Maintains and takes first call on approximately 110 electric doors to include all safety, operation, activation, and locking devices.
- →Maintaining the site lighting systems.
- →The system consists of computer controls with low voltage contactor switching and is interfaced with our energy management system.
- →In ground and above ground fuel tanks and monitoring systems required by JCAHO and EPA.
- →Must provide and maintain all pathways, wiring, bus duct, underground man hole systems needed at this medical center for signal, power and communications throughout this medical center to include the regional office and outpatient clinics.
- →The unique design aspect of industrial electronic controls require the use of non-standard practices to facilitate repairs.
- →This often requires the incumbent to determine the need for modification to the equipment or system and requires design, building, implementing and testing Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:00am- 3:30pm Position Description Title/PD#: General Equipment Mechanic/PD10212A Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not approved Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorized
