About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Performs skilled maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and modification of lock and dam machinery, floating plant, heavy equipment, hydraulic systems, engines, and other mechanical equipment and systems.
What You'll Do
- →Performs work that is characteristic of a variety of trades in order to repair, modify, and maintain the lock and dam machinery, floating plant equipment and machinery, and engineering equipment.
- →Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles hydraulic pumps, air compressors, valves, controllers, etc.
- →Fabricates lock and dam parts and required items in the maintenance shop.
- →Troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and maintains floating plant including towboats, barges, work boats, skiffs, outboard motors, etc.
- →Repairs and maintains engineering and industrial type equipment (i.e. pay loaders, mobile cranes, tractors, hoists, heavy trucks, air compressors, engine-generators, gasoline engines and electric driven pumps, accessory equipment and attachments).
- →Operates various equipment including 0.5 ton to 10 ton trucks.
- →Maintains Preventative Maintenance (PM) records for all project equipment requiring maintenance services.
