About the Role

You will serve as a FUTURE SYSTEMS PROGRAM ANALYST in the FUTURE SYSTEMS & REQUIREMENTS DIRECTORATE - N8 of COMMANDER UNDERSEA SURVEILLANCE.

What You'll Do

  • You will apply analytical skills, functional expertise, and programmatic knowledge to identify Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS), requirements, and translate them into inputs to the system acquisition and operational planning process.
  • You will identify Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) system technical needs and deficiencies through site visits, operator and unit feedback, personal use during testing and evaluation periods, and observation of assessment events.
  • You will analyze system "trouble tickets" and provide feedback to assess potential requirement changes, additional training needs, and/or maintenance actions.
  • You will evaluate current system operations, the degree to which they meet current and anticipated operational requirements and develop recommendations for planning future changes.
  • You will provide IUSS representation to internal and external organizations or groups, or forums to maintain a continuing working knowledge of content, scope, and status of emerging science and technology concepts to address future requirements.
  • You will provide IUSS fleet perspective to Future Naval Capabilities (FNC) and Science and Technology (S and T) development efforts to advance development objectives and related action in defining and justifying strategies and investments.
  • You will provide fleet perspective in analyzing requirements and concept of operations development criteria that shape future system capabilities and technical assets within the IUSS portfolios including fixed, mobile and deployable systems.
  • You will assess development concepts, emerging technologies and hardware/software products, to identify those with potential to address Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) system requirements.
  • You will devise means of assessing improvements to operational capabilities and efficiencies described in proposals, tradeoffs associated with their cost and potential risk to operations.
  • You will prepare correspondence and reports interpreting findings to inform management of issues and how they may affect the performance of Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) systems and capabilities.
