You will serve as the Volunteer-In-Parks Coordinator at Vicksburg National Military Park in Vicksburg, MS. Please visit find a park for additional park information. This is a Permanent, Competitive, Full-time, Career-Seasonal appointment. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as permanent appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis.
What You'll Do
- →At the full performance level (GS-07) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates the park-wide volunteer program including the assessment of needs, recruitment, training, placement, monitoring, safety, overall program evaluation and parkwide recognition.
- →Serves as the primary contact and liaison for potential and current volunteers and volunteer groups and responsible for developing and maintaining new volunteer partnerships in support of the parks.
- →Plans, develops, and organizes special volunteer project activities/events and coordinates logistical and administrative elements associated with such projects/events.
- →Coordinates large scale volunteer activities such as quarterly parkwide volunteer days.
- →Works with park staff to identify and plan new volunteer opportunities and initiatives.
- →Responsible for monitoring, tracking and reporting on volunteer hours and volunteer program budget.
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
