About the Role
This position is located with the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Fredericksburg & Spotsylvania National Military Park, with a duty station of Fredericksburg, VA. Anticipated Entry on Duty: July 2026 with a NTE of January 2027 First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Maintain landscapes and roadsides using equipment including riding mowers, push mowers, weed eaters, 3-blade trimmers, backpack blowers, work trucks and hand tools Perform custodial services such as cleaning the restrooms, Visitor Centers, and administrative offices and emptying interior trash cans.
- →Pick up litter along roadsides and empty exterior trash cans.
- →Perform trail maintenance.
Requirements
- ✓Must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- ✓Direct Deposit participation required.
- ✓Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.

- ✓Must have and maintain a valid driver's license throughout employment.
- ✓You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
- ✓You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- ✓Physical Demands: The work performed requires the exertion of moderate to very heavy physical effort.
