About the Role
You will serve as a FUL - Carpenter in the National Park Service. This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment expecting to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of four years, or more based on any changes to regulations governing the number of years term appointments may last, without further competition at management's discretion.
What You'll Do
- →Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Perform journey-level carpentry to build, modify, and repair wooden and composite structures such as buildings, cabins, docks, boardwalks, bridges, floors, decks, fences, signs, partitions, and trim.
- →Plan and execute projects from layout to finish, ensuring precise fit, structural integrity, and quality appearance.
- →Construct and repair frames, rafters, forms, walls, stairs, doors, windows, cabinetry, and other interior/exterior components.
- →Operate woodworking machines, use advanced joinery techniques, and work with wood, metal, and composite materials for partitions, floors, ceilings, counters, and moldings.
- →Read and interpret blueprints to determine layout, materials, and work sequences.
- →Work with historic carpentry, and take appropriate measures to preserve features that define the structure's historic character.

- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
