You will serve as a FUEL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM INSPECTOR in the QUALITY DIVISION, FUELS DEPARTMENT, DEPUTY LOGISTICS SERVICES DIRECTORATE of MCAS CHERRY POINT.
What You'll Do
- →You will clear fuel lines; open or close valves in proper sequence to provide an open pipeline from shipment point of origin to destination in accordance with pipeline transfer schedules and related instructions.
- →You will record valve settings; initiate, control, and terminate fuel transfer; record gauge readings received from shipping, receiving, and transfer points and prepare a report of transfer.
- →You will direct loading and unloading of railcars, tankers, trucks, aircraft, storage tanks and various fuel receipt and issue points throughout the fuel distribution system.
- →You will collect fuel samples from railcars, tankers, bulk storage tanks, fill stands, nozzles, mobile refuelers, filters, and separators to conduct on site visual tests in accordance with current Naval Air Systems Command (NA VAIR) instructions.
- →You will monitor equipment at frequent intervals for quality surveillance of fuels received and issued.
- →You will inspect and conduct quality surveillance of aviation fuel entering and exiting the fuel distribution system via the pipeline, storage tanks, pumps, fill stands, trucks, mobile refuelers and hydrant system.
