The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief of Operations, Superintendent, Capitol Jurisdiction, Assistant Superintendent, Client Services Division, Labor Branch, Night Labor. The incumbent is a Floor Maintenance Technician Assistant Supervisor and assists with the supervision of the work of Floor Maintenance Technicians.
What You'll Do
- →Tour of Duty: Sunday night thru Friday morning 10pm to 6:30am *Hours may Change due to Operational Needs of Management This position is Essential: The incumbent is required to report to work during emergencies and inclement weather situations.
- →Duties: The incumbent is a working supervisor and assists the supervisor in assigning duties and reviewing the work of subordinates, as well as planning schedules and coordinating work operations and solving problems related to the work performed by employees.
- →Serves as a full assistant supervisor and plans use of subordinate workers' equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
- →Establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by higher level management.
- →As required, coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors.
- →Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
- →Determines how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones can be delayed, and the number and types of employees needed, considering skills, personnel, material, and equipment available and required.
- →Redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticipated work and/or equipment failure, etc.
- →Informs the Night Labor Supervisor of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimates labor and other resources.
- →Participates with the Supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, staffing needs, estimates and recommendations as to scheduling projected work.
- →Cleans floors, carpets, and walls in designated areas.
- →Uses carpet cleaning equipment to shampoo and vacuum carpets.
- →Uses electrically powered sweeping equipment to clean and polish hard surfaced floors.
- →Uses wall washing equipment in conjunction with lifting equipment and scaffolding to clean walls.
