What You'll Do
- →You will respond to emergencies as a member of an Engine Company, Truck Company, Rescue Company, Hazardous Materials Team and /or Rescue Team.
- →You will perform thorough safety and maintenance inspections on emergency transport vehicles.
- →You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.
- →You will respond as a member of an emergency response company and perform assigned tasks during ambulance/ rescue responses.
- →You will be periodically assigned to standby duties at the scene of hazardous operations.
- →You will prioritize treatment for patients having multiple problems and employ a variety of established emergency medical/medicine techniques, methods, and equipment to intervene on the patient's behalf.
- →You will report in a clear/concise manner, orally or in writing, what injuries were identifies and what care was administered at the scene or in transit.
- →You will decontaminate vehicle and equipment as directed by protocols.
- →You will conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of their condition and search for medical alert symbols.
- →You will participate and lead classes on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and other topic areas for Emergency Medical Technician.
