Please see Additional Information section below.*** You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER, LEAD FIREFIGHTER, FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST, FIREFIGHTER (PARAMEDIC), SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER (OPERATIONS), or FIRE CHIEF in the Department of Navy located in MCAS Iwakuni, Japan and MCB Butler, Okinawa, Japan.
What You'll Do
- →You will ensure the fire protection, fire prevention, emergency medical, transport services, water rescue, vehicle extrication rescue, confined space rescue, trench cave-in rescue and hazardous materials spill response programs are carried out.
- →You will prepare briefs, reports and correspondence as needed.
- →You will participate in daily training and instruction classes covering all phases of fire protection, fire prevention and emergency medical services.
- →You will respond as a member of an emergency response company and performs assigned tasks during ambulance/rescue responses.
- →You will conduct training for Fire Inspectors and firefighters In basic fire Inspection methods for insuring operability of life safety systems.
- →You will analyze a hazardous material incident to determine the magnitude of the problem and identify special containers involved to identify or classify unknown material.
- →You will lead and direct the operation and efficiency of the crew in all aspects of firefighting, emergency medical, hazardous materials, urban search and rescue, fire prevention and communications.
Requirements
- ✓CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED: You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- ✓Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- ✓A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test.
- ✓You may be subject to random drug testing.
- ✓You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- ✓Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals).
- ✓You may be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- ✓This position may require exposure to high noise levels.
- ✓This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
- ✓You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- ✓This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
- ✓Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- ✓This position requires rotating shift work.
