You will serve as a FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEMS MECHANIC (WATER-BASED) in the PUBLIC WORKS DIR of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
What You'll Do
- →You will current permanent employees of DON, DoD Military Spouse Preference (MSP) eligibles, DoD Military Reserve (MR) and National Guard (NG) Technician Preference eligibles and DoD Retained Grade Preference eligibles, and VEOA eligibles.
- →You will inspect all systems, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic subassemblies, components, and related devices, for operational deficiencies or impairments.
- →You will make repairs by replacing pipe, valves, fittings, sprinkler heads, monitoring devices, etc. on faulty or damaged equipment, sprinkler systems, to ensure full operational condition.
- →You will perform various tests (pressure, discharge flow, etc.) for system operability, identifies problems that arise during or as a result of testing procedures, and takes steps to prevent or resolve them.
