About the Role

The Smithsonian Institution is the world's largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in Cash Management, Accounting Operations, Office of Finance and Accounting (OF&A), Under Secretary for Finance and Administration.

What You'll Do

  • In this position, you will: Prepare financial forecasts for use in unit budgeting and production of cash management report(s) as well as various reports using automated financial systems.
  • Analyze and interpret financial data to identify continual and short-term changes in the program requirements and recommend corrective and responsive actions to use as well as analysis of various financial partners' cost/fee structures, contracts and revenue streams.
  • Identify, track and correct incomplete, unreliable and conflicting data that impact assigned segments of reports or projects, including open related issues such as FSS/CMM, ERP financial disbursements (IPAC, Debit Cards, BOA, & WU), pay cycles (treasury or bank and AR billing tasks) and associated cash adjustments needed to balance assigned accounts.
  • Troubleshoot problems, perform accounts examinations to include review of SI-7002 Ledger Activity PD Version: v.1.0, 11/24/2024 Last Modified: v.1.0, 11/24/2024 Report, non-cash GL account 1199, 1121 Debit Card account, etc. and resolve problematic areas within assigned areas.
