The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) provides the infrastructure and support that enables the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) to perform its mission. OASAM provides leadership and support for information technology, human resources management, procurement, business operations, safety and health, space management, civil rights, emergency management, security, budget, and performance.
What You'll Do
- →This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM), Office of Field Operations (OFO), Division of Finance, Finance Operations Branch.
- →The employee performs financial management work relating to the financial activities for multiple Department of Labor (DOL) regions.
- →Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Serve as a financial services liaison and backup point of contact for Department of Labor (DOL) field-based customer agencies, providing guidance and support on financial operations and transactions.
- →Process and monitor Intra-Governmental Payment and Collection (IPAC) transactions to ensure timely and accurate payments, collections, and accounting activities.
- →Review and analyze funding documentation to ensure compliance with federal fiscal regulations, appropriations law, Treasury requirements, and audit standards.
- →Research, analyze, and reconcile financial transactions across multiple financial management systems, including the New Core Financial Management System (NCFMS).
- →Perform Agency Location Code (ALC) and Treasury Account Symbol (TAS) reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of accounting records and Treasury reporting.
- →Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies by conducting detailed financial analyses, preparing adjusting entries, and coordinating corrective actions with customer agencies and stakeholders.
- →Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and analytical summaries to support management decision-making and financial oversight activities.
- →Collaborate with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Treasury, and customer agencies to resolve financial issues and ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
- →Provide technical assistance and recommendations to improve financial management processes, reporting requirements, and internal controls.
