About the Role
The Durham VA Healthcare System is seeking (1) highly skilled/experienced File Clerk to serve within Health Information Management Section (HIMS) of Health Administration Service (HAS).
What You'll Do
- →Duties Include but not limited to the following: Perform the receipt, intake scanning, indexing, quality control, destruction, and transfer of health and administrative information.
- →Perform a variety of record keeping, correspondence, and document tracking.
- →Perform timely filing, retrieval, and clerical duties associated with retention, maintenance, disposition, guardianship and control of health records.
- →Confirm record integrity and review the image quality in the imaging display program.
- →Use approved secure processes for transferring, mailing, and destroying documents.
- →Ensure necessary medical/administrative information is integrated into the medical record.
- →Maintain confidentiality of all records and ensure health records are maintained in a secure manner.
- →Use and understand medical terminology and major anatomical systems, medical facility terms, and abbreviations.
- →Performs other related duties as assigned.
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8:00AM-4:30PM Telework: Ad-Hoc.
- →This position may be authorized for telework.
- →Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.
