About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Operational Support Facilities Division, 2 vacancies located in: El Centro, CA El Paso, TX Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • This position is with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), within U.S.
  • Customs and Border Protection, Office of Facilities and Asset Management, Operational Support Facilities Division.
  • The BPAM PMO is within the OSF Division, which is responsible for overseeing the planning, construction, maintenance, repairs, operations, and sustainment of OFAM's facilities.
  • This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • In this Facility Operations Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals involved in maintaining, repairing, and improving CBP facilities, utilities, and grounds within the El Centro or El Paso AOR, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with safety, health, and regulatory standards.
  • The assigned area includes buildings, equipment, utilities, facility sites, and supply functions.
  • Typical Work assignments include: Providing guidance in facility operations, maintenance, and project management, reviewing project documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Determining appropriate courses of action to address program changes, technological advancements, unforeseen events, and conflicting requirements.
  • Monitoring and evaluating contractor performance.
  • Developing statements of work (SOW) and independent government cost estimates (IGCE) to identify needs and draft contract language.
  • Utilizing various software and construction related technical documents.
