Salary for Tier 1 positions in Army are normally between $199,172 and $209,600.

What You'll Do

  • Serves as the Executive Director for Portfolio Acquisition Executive for Agile Sustainment and Ammunition (PAE AS&A), responsible for a broad range of executive leadership responsibilities involving life cycle development, acquisition, testing, product improvement, and focusing on total life cycle effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • The Executive Director shares responsibility for the development, acquisition, distribution and deployment of specialized and dynamic ammunition systems and energetics with the principal emphasis on managing the business and acquisition aspects of ammunition, energetics and weapons systems to include designation as the Single Manager for Conventional Ammunition (SMCA).
  • PAE AS&A projects result from requirements originating in Congress, DoW, DA, ASA(ALT), other services and the User to include a substantial number of intensely managed, high-visibility ammunition and weapons systems; i.e., ACAT I/II/III programs.
  • Provides day-to-day operational direction and executive management policy and program objectives for the conduct of life cycle management of the assigned portfolio of two Project Manager Executives (PMEs), 7 Project Managers (PMs), 2 Project Leads (PLs) and 20 Product Officers across 704 programs for the Army.
  • Incumbent is directly accountable to coordinate, integrate, lead and directly manage subordinate Project/Program/Product Managers in order to achieve programs' life cycle objectives and capabilities.
  • Manages nearly 1,000 personnel executing a $55.8B FY27-31 acquisition portfolio, reinforced by $2.2B in Science and Technology investments across the FYDP.
  • Directly supervises personnel at the COL/NH-IV level.
  • The PAE and Executive Director share the responsibility for consolidating each PM's assigned mission into a coherent program that crosses all budget appropriations.

Requirements

  • You will serve a one-year probationary period unless you have previously completed the probationary period in the SES.

  • You must be able to submit and pass designated and/or Random Drug Testing as required.
  • File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report OGE-278e within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
  • Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • You must be able to obtain/maintain the appropriate clearance and access level for this position.
  • Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • The incumbent is required to travel on both scheduled and unscheduled aircraft, and other modes as required, under conditions specified under the DoD Joint Travel Regulations.
  • The incumbent is expected to travel on short notice to attend high level meetings to obtain resolution of problems and gather information to assist in the decision-making process.
  • Mobility: An essential element of the SES is mobility across geographic, organizational and functional lines.
