About the Role
The Executive Director, Office of Business Oversight (OBO), serves as the senior executive responsible for leading VA's fraud prevention, internal controls, grants management, and stakeholder engagement functions operating with broad delegated authority and significant independence across one of the federal government's largest and most complex financial enterprises.
What You'll Do
- →Leads VA's enterprise-wide effort to strengthen operational and financial internal controls, eliminate fraud, waste and abuse, and ensure the integrity of VA's financial programs.
- →Provides executive oversight of VA's enterprise internal controls framework, ensuring the Department maintains an organizational environment that provides reasonable assurance all control objectives are met.
- →Directs the development of Departmental policies and procedures that institutionalize strong internal controls as a standard of operations.
- →Establishes and directs VA-wide grants management policy, standards, and operating procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- →Serves as the Senior Financial Accountable Official for VA on Council on Federal Financial Assistance (COFFA).
- →Directs enterprise-level financial oversight of grantee performance, including risk-based monitoring, financial reporting review, drawdown analysis, and corrective action, ensuring that every grant dollar is managed with rigorous fiscal stewardship.
