Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Equipment Operator (Fish Facility) Supervisor II. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Byron, California This is not a remote position
What You'll Do
- →The primary duties of this position are: Supervises a crew size ranging from 3 to 13 crew members in the respective trades/crafts or other employees involved in a multi-craft work project.
- →Responds to routine preventive maintenance, trouble reports, and specific jobs.
- →Responsible for planning assigned specific jobs and identifying safety requirements, developing job hazard analysis, setting deadlines, coordination with other crews, staff and related personnel (internal and external), providing or obtaining drawings, determining what craft is needed, and number of staff hours required.
- →Participates in the development of annual, long-range and emergency operating plans.
- →Determines all work assignments and directs crew members to perform specific work, sets deadlines for accomplishment, defines acceptable standards for performance and workmanship, provides instructions on any new or unusual work, and reviews work in-progress and upon completion.
- →Schedules and distributes work to assure that deadlines are met and work flows evenly; makes changes to accommodate priorities, reviews work for adequacy and accuracy.
- →Ensures the safety of all personnel, as well as contract or other personnel undertaking fish facility equipment operations activities. promotes continual safety awareness, conducts weekly safety and daily crew meetings for work status and safety, and ensures adherence to all established safety practices and requirements and that jobs are performed in a safe manner.
- →Coordinates and ensures proper inspections and tests are completed on critical safety equipment such as ladders, ropes, slings, tools, respirators, etc., coordinates with the Operations and Maintenance Team on the Hazardous Energy Control Program and related procedures, and conducts on-site reviews of clearances prior to their acceptance and coordinates response efforts in emergencies.
- →Coordinates with the Safety and Occupational Health Specialist in documenting incidents and performing or participating in incident investigations and report development.
- →Recommends crew members for promotion, corrective action, incentive awards (suggestions and performance), and training, and makes recommendations to the supervisor on the selection of new crew members; trains and/or assists in training apprentices.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓Citizen or U.S.
- ✓You must be suitable for federal employment, determined by a background investigation.

- ✓A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Passenger Endorsement) is required as a condition of employment.
- ✓You will be required to obtain a tanker endorsement and remove the "no air brake" restriction within 180 days after reporting for duty.
- ✓Failure to possess or maintain a CDL will result in the termination of appointment.
- ✓You will be required to obtain a successful pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying your ability to perform the duties of this position.
- ✓A physical exam may not be required if a comparable agency approved examination was performed within the last 12 months.
- ✓The cost of the exam will be reimbursed by the agency.
- ✓You will be required to submit to a urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment as a condition of employment.
- ✓This position is also subject to random drug testing.
