About the Role
The incumbent serves as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Manager for the Lexington VA Health Care System and reports directly to the Executive Director. He/She is responsible for coordinating and/or managing all EEO activities.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent serves as a management advisor on all related EEO issues and functions as a key member of the medical center's executive staff.
- →Duties include but not limited to: Investigates EEO related activities for the facility.
- →Trains all EEO activities for the facility.
- →Defines EEO problem areas, identifies reasons for problems, and drafts specific action items to address the causes of the problem(s).
- →Tracks status of formal discrimination complaints in process working closely with the Office of Resolution Management (ORM).
- →Negotiates and settles EEO cases from formal to earning elections.
- →Uses Alternative Dispute Resolution Program for the facility.
- →Provides centralized tracking, monitoring, & reporting processes to proactively respond to allegations of harassment.
- →Serves as representative of the facility in establishing and maintaining contact with local community groups in the interest of improving employment relations.
- →Makes efforts to identify and solve systemic problems through on-site reviews by participation in agency management audits or personnel management evaluation reviews.
- →Works with VISN and VACO level agencies responsible for investigating and reviewing all EEO complaints for the facility.
- →Serves as technical advisor to all employees at the facility in all issues of EEO.
- →Takes action to expedite complaint processing, serving as expert on processes and timelines.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm Telework-ADHOC: This position may be authorized for ADHOC telework.
