You will serve as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the located in the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Office (Code 106), Environmental Division (Code 106.3), Waterfront Operations Branch (Code 106.32) at NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will perform functional area coordination in one or more of the following program areas: CWA and/or Environmental Sampling, RCRA, DOT, Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), Commonwealth of Virginia Hazardous Waste Management Regulations (VHWMR).
- →You will Prepare for and attend regulatory inspections of the assigned storage facility.
- →You will support the relocation of waste from waterfront, CAA, SAA, or other areas as identified and/or directed by the EPS Team Lead and/or Branch Head.
- →You will execute hazardous waste, hazardous material, PCB, Universal Waste, and asbestos shipments representing the legal liability interests of Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY).
- →You will provide the Environmental Sampling and Monitoring Program with program coordination and oversite to ensure NNSY remains in compliance with all environmental sampling and monitoring requirements.

- ✓In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
