As Regional Restoration Project Manager within NASA's Office of Strategic Infrastructure, you will lead environmental restoration efforts across multiple NASA Centers. You'll provide technical leadership, guide regulatory strategies, and oversee cleanup projects addressing diverse contaminants and remediation challenges. In this role, you'll help protect NASA's infrastructure, and promote environmental stewardship and mission readiness while shaping restoration priorities across the Agency.
What You'll Do
- →Leads and oversees complex environmental restoration projects across multiple NASA Centers, including investigation, remediation, monitoring, and long-term cleanup activities.
- →Develops and implements restoration strategies to ensure compliance with CERCLA, RCRA, NEPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
- →Serves as a technical authority and advisor on environmental restoration matters, evaluating complex contamination issues, remedial alternatives, regulatory requirements, and project risks.
- →Leads regulatory coordination and negotiations with federal and state agencies and collaborates with NASA Centers, legal counsel, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve complex restoration issues.
- →Manages regional restoration priorities, project schedules, budgets, and resources; evaluates program performance and risks to ensure regulatory milestones, Agency objectives, and mission requirements are achieved.
Requirements
- ✓Basic Requirement: You must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major in engineering.
- ✓The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following: Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
- ✓Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those individuals who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration.
- ✓For example, an individual who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.
- ✓Written Test -- Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional.
- ✓Specified academic courses -- Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and that included the courses specified in the basic requirements.
- ✓Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience.
- ✓(The above examples of related curricula are not all inclusive.) U.S. degrees must have been awarded from colleges or universities that are accredited by recognized accrediting organizations.

- ✓If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs.
